Timothy Thaddeus Weglicki, passed away at the age of 72 on November 21, 2023 at Gilchrist Hospice in Towson Md after a long battle with Primary Progressive Aphasia, part of the condition known as Frontal Temporal Dementia (FTD). A native of East Baltimore, he was pre-deceased by his parents Theodore Joseph and Bridget Vrablic Weglicki. Tim attended Archbishop Curley High School and The Johns Hopkins University ’73 where he was a star wide receiver. He earned an MBA in Finance from University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business.
Upon graduation, Tim spent two years in the JP Morgan training program in New York City. He then joined Alex Brown & Sons where across a 15-year career he served as an Investment Banker in the firm’s healthcare practice, headed the corporate finance and equity divisions and founded the firms’ Capital Markets Group. Tim left Alex Brown in 1993 to co-found ABS Capital Partners, where he was an active Partner until his retirement in 2020. A prominent businessman, he served as Director of Coventry Health Care Inc., American Public Education, and numerous ABS Capital portfolio companies. Civically, Tim was a long-time board member of the Garrison Forrest School for 20 years. His hobbies included fly fishing, hunting, cycling, photography as well as being an avid Baltimore Ravens and Hopkins Blue Jays fan.
A devoted family man, Tim is survived by his his wife of 50 years Mary Denise Flynn, his sister Mary Bridgette Weglicki Targarona (John Paul Targarona (Jack)), his daughters Elizabeth Beall Weglicki Homans (Patrick) and Anne Corbett Weglicki Mason (Taylor) and four grandchildren (Eve Catherine Homans, Caroline Corbett Homans, Alexander Taylor Mason and Timothy Koehler Mason).
A gathering will be held at Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley Inc. 10 West Padonia Road Timonium, Maryland on Tuesday, November 28th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral Service is
Wednesday, November 29, 2023 11am at St. Charles Borromeo Church 101 Church Street, Pikesville Maryland.
