Sue Ellen Murray passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024. She is the beloved wife of the late Joseph William Murray, Sr; devoted mother of Kelly Dorn and her husband Michael, Joseph William Murray, Jr. and his wife Brigid, and Kathleen Anderson and her husband Christopher; cherished Mom-Mom of Madison, Mac, Grace, Joseph, Patrick, Ronan, Tyler, Ryan and Liam. She is also survived by her closest and dear friend of over 40 years, Julie Martin.
Sue was born in New York on June 14, 1939. Her father served as a colonel in the army and her mother was a homemaker. She was an army brat who lived throughout the world, including Germany and Japan, the latter of which she graduated high school in.
Sue briefly attended nursing school but spent her working career as a receptionist for various offices in the medical field. Sue found her true calling and many lifelong friends working at the Bel Air auto auction for over 30 years. She also had a passion for travel, especially enjoying trips to her high school reunions throughout the country and vacations with her family.
She was a devoted parishioner of Saints Philip and James Catholic Church. Sue Ellen never missed a chance to attend her family's sporting events, particularly their lacrosse games, cheering on her loved ones with unparalleled pride and enthusiasm.
She loved her family dearly and was always proud of their achievements. She had a feisty spirit, independence, and a knack for speaking her mind with honesty and grace.
Sue will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her legacy of love, dedication, and unwavering support will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc, 10 West Padonia Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 3:00-5:00 pm and
7:00-9:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saints Philip & James Catholic Church, 2801 N Charles Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21218 on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 9:30 am.
Interment New Cathedral Cemetery, 4300 Old Frederick Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21229.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sue's name to Saints Philip & James Catholic Church.
