Mackenzie “Kenzie” Elizabeth Cheston passed away unexpectedly at home in Timonium, MD, on September 2nd. The daughter of Shannon Cheston, Mackenzie was born on January 22, 2007 in Towson. She was a junior at Dulaney High School and active in The Church of the Redeemer Youth Group. She was a beautiful dancer and enjoyed different styles of dance, including jazz, modern, hip hop, and ballet.
Mackenzie will be remembered for her genuine kindness towards others and her creativity and love of art. She loved all animals big and small, especially her pet hamster, Jessie and her dog, Ellie. She always felt joy when she was with her friends, and she loved to travel to new places – most recently joining her Youth Group on an eight-day retreat to Ireland.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sister, Clare Cheston, and half-sister, Danielle Frederick; grandmother, Dr. Sharon Cheston of Timonium; and grandfather, James Cheston of Harwood, MD; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, godparents, and dear friends of our family.
Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc., 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road), Timonium, MD 21093 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm.
Funeral services will be at The Church of The Redeemer, 5603 Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21210, on Friday, September 15th at 12:00pm. To honor her favorite color, feel free to wear a touch of pink to the service.
