Kay was an amazing teacher and an amazing person. I worked with her at Cockeysville during the 90's when she was in the Physical Education department. She knew when to be tough and when to show great kindness to students. The world and many students are better for her being here. She will be sorely missed.

I am trying to find the words to explain how important Miss Walker was in my life. She was truly an amazing woman. She taught me so much not just about sports and gym. She helped to instill in me great work ethics. She always told me everything has a price you have to work hard for what you want no one is just going to hand it to you. Work smart, work hard and work with a purpose. I saw her in 2013 when she came to my mothers memorial service. I could not thank her enough for teaching me so much. Thank you and may you rest in peace. My condolences to all of her family and friends!

Kay often substituted for me and other colleagues at Cockeysville Middle School. I always respected how passionate she was about the things in her life. She was a very friendly and memorable lady.

Condolences to the family with whom she will be sadly missed. A very special lady and an awesome gym teacher. Even though not my favorite class since I wasn't very athletic she always made class enjoyable.

We are so sad to hear of Kay's death!!  What a wonderful person and neighbor she was to my sister, Eileen.  She was always eager to find out about how my sister was doing with her own recent illness, and we ALWAYS loved seeing her buddy, Ty!!  She and Ty visited both my sister and my mother when each of them was at Lorien for rehabilitation for a period of time. We often had pleasant chats about her substitute teaching, her church volunteer work, sports, and things happening in the condo building where she and my sister lived. We already miss seeing her and Ty regularly but know that their work together here on earth was much appreciated.  It was my now 21 year old daughter (whom Kay was a substitute teacher for several times in her retirement) who sent me the notice of Kay's death. Our daughter heard about it and was sent a copy of the obituary by another graduate of Baltimore County Schools, where Kay obviously had quite an impact upon her students over her many years of teaching.  She is already greatly missed !!

Miss Walker was not only a gym teacher but a life teacher as well. She was tough but fair.  I was very ill as a child but Miss Walker always made me feel that I could do anything as well as the other girls. May your gym locker in heaven be full of clean yellow gym suits:)

Miss Walker was my gym teacher many years ago, but the greatest thing was that she remembered who I was all the years later after I saw here around town.  She was a wonderful person who will be missed!

Kay was always very kind to my boys when they were young and running around the church pews. She also visited with my father at Lorien.  Her kindness and smile will be missed! Prayer to Kay's family.

My therapy pet, Ivy, and I are saddened to hear of Kay's passing. Kay and I attended several Pets on Wheels events throughout the year. She and Ty will be missed.

Kay, you will be missed by your Lorien family.  You were so special to everyone at Lorien.  Your devotion to visiting residents with your beautiful Ty was admireable.  You brought so much joy to so many through your work with Pets on Wheels with Ty.  We will miss you dear friend.

I am shocked and saddened to read this news. Kay and I always seemed to sign up for the same Pets on Wheels events. She was a wonderful person and will be missed.

Kay was a wonderful volunteer for Therapy Pets Unlimited with her partner, Ty! It was an honor to know this bright spirit, Kay will be sorely missed.

My condolences to the family and Kay's faithful POW Therapy Companion Sheltie "Ty."  Kay and Ty's volunteer work for Pets On Wheels will sorely be missed.  R.I.P.

Kay was a teacher of mine, and many years later we volunteered for the church. She was such a devoted volunteer! She wanted to help people, whether by serving meals at a soup kitchen, arranging those visits, taking Ty (who was trained as a therapy dog) to visit people, or doing other outreach work. I will miss her.

It was an honor for Piper and I to make a visit to Kay while she was at Lorien Mays Chapel, knowing how much she had done for other residents at that same location.  I was so blessed to have met you and learned about your life.  Thank you for sharing in this special way.  I am in awe of the difference you and Ty made in the lives of others by listening to the stories of both the staff and other residents there.  You are an inspiration!
