Judy was my dear childhood friend from first grade through high school.  She was so smart and kind and loved by everyone. How do you say goodbye to not just the best friend you could ever have but the best person you have ever known? Someone you could talk to everyday and never run out of things to talk about. You could go months without talking and pickup right where you left off. Someone you could sit in silence with and never feel uncomfortable. The one person who always knew when you were hurting and would comfort you no matter what you needed, who was there when you were sick and scared. The one person who looked past your foolish ideas and forgave your stupid mistakes, who loved you for who you were when you were still trying to figure it out. The person who you grew up with even though you both thought you were grown when you met and helped each other to grow into the women you became. The one person who went through pregnancies at the same time with you and giving birth and raising children and becoming grandmothers and growing old with. The person you would grieve with and experience devastating loss with. Now I have to figure out how to grieve that one person without the rock I have had to lean on for nearly 50 years. I can only hope the time passes quickly so we can talk again and pick up where we left off. Until then my friend...

 My mom was the best of the best. I have nothing but positive memories from her. I was so blessed to be her daughter. She taught me so many lessons. Treat others the way you want to be treated, don’t lower yourself to someone else’s level, to always be empathetic, to put yourself in someone else’s shoes, be kind and respectful, and to never give up. She didn’t just say these things, she showed me by being an example. Family was everything to her.  She was a great friend. I will miss our talks about the all the big and little things in life. She was a good listener and was very wise.  We talked about what we believed about the afterlife quite a bit. I know she is with her Dad, her sister Pat and brother in law, John, among others she has lost.  I am happy for her that they are all reunited. Mom, it was the honor of my life to get to spend the time I got with you and I know that one day we will be together again.  I’ll love you forever and hold all the love you gave to me inside my heart. 

Mom, you were the most amazing person to walk the face of this earth. I was blessed for you to be my mother. There are no words to express how much you will be missed. Thank you for everything. It was a privilege to be your son and an honor to be a part of your life. There will be no more suffering or bad days for you. Enjoy heaven and seeing you dad and Aunt Pat and Uncle John and everyone else up there. Until we can all be together again, I love you so much.
