Joseph (Joe) Louis Scott, Jr., a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 30th, 2024. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on November 24th, 1960 to Joseph and Joan Scott. Joe's life was one filled with love for his family and passion for the things he held dear.
Joe was a devoted husband to Darlene for 33 years. Their love was evident in every glance and moment they spent together. He cherished their time together and made sure to show her how much she meant to him each day. As a father to Krystal Lyons and stepfather to Regina Mack, Joe's guidance and support were unwavering. His daughters looked up to him as a role model of strength and kindness. He took great pride in being there for them. His grandsons Timmy Staples and Lawrence Joseph (LJ) Lyons brought immense joy into his life. He adored spending time with them, sharing stories from his own childhood while creating new memories that will be treasured forever.
Joe found fulfillment in his work at Bedco Mobility where he dedicated an impressive 43 years of service. His commitment to excellence earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike. He received many awards and completed ample courses throughout the years. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Joe had many passions outside of work. A fan of NASCAR racing, he never missed an opportunity to watch the races or attend events with loved ones by his side. Demolition derbies also held a special place in his heart; the thrill of being inside his derby car filled him with excitement like nothing else could. Joe started the beginning of this family loved tradition after introducing it to Gina.
He shared another passion with Darlene when he taught her how to play pool – something that brought them even closer together over the years. Cars were more than just vehicles; they were an extension of himself – especially his beloved T-bucket roadster which always turned heads wherever it went. Cruise week at Ocean City, Maryland became an annual tradition for Joe where he proudly showcased his car alongside other enthusiasts who shared similar interests. Trail riding in his side by side created unforgettable moments between him and those closest to him.
The impact Joe's passing has left is immeasurable but so too are the memories that will live on through those who knew him best: wife Darlene; daughter Krystal (Nick) Lyons; stepdaughter Regina Mack; grandsons Timmy Staples & LJ Lyons; Great Grandson Dustyn Staples - along with countless friends whose lives have been touched by this remarkable man. Though we mourn our loss deeply today we take comfort knowing that Joe’s spirit lives on within us all - inspiring us towards greater compassion understanding & love each day forward until we meet again someday soon..
