John “Bob” Johnson, Jr., 77, of Kingsville, MD, peacefully passed away with his family by his side on December 19, 2020; Bob loved to coach varies type of sports and he got allot of pleasure from helping others. Nothing would bring a bigger smile to his face and made him very proud like his daughters and grandchildren sports accomplishments. He coached his daughter’s youth softball and helped with high school and semi pro teams. Mr. Johnson was always very active, he worked at the Catholic Review, was a Vice President of advertising at Chesapeake Publishing, played football for Calvert Hall, and pro football for the Baltimore Colts and New England Patriots. Bob was the president of the Mustang Club and enjoyed tinkering with his precious Shelby Mustangs. His love of cars did not just stop at the Shelby Mustangs, he also owned Avanti, Ford GT40, Corvette, even a Maserati. Bob won multiple awards with his cars at the World of Wheels, and Grand Master Championships. Bob was the loving husband for 55yrs to Marie Johnson; beloved father of Mari Lynn Bartell and her husband Rich, Lorrie Flannery, Jaime Wadsworth and her husband Jason, and Kerri O’Day and her husband Mike; cherished grandfather of Connor, Reece, Brody, and Rowan Bartell, Garett, and Aidan Flannery, Beckett Wadsworth, Grady, Marleigh, Cormac, Hadleigh, Landry, Brecon and Kelton O’Day; also survived by his puppy dogs Izzy, Chewy, and Luna.
A celebration of Bob’s life for extended family and friends will be held at a later date due to the Covid-19 restrictions. If you wish to be notified, please acknowledge in the Funeral Home’s online guest book. Interment private.
