George Milton (Sonny) Bosley, Jr. of Parkville, MD, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2023. He was born on July 18, 1939, to George Milton Bosley, Sr. and his wife, Grace (nee Howard). George grew up in Cockeysville, MD. He was married for 63 years to the love of his life, Nancy (nee Tipton), and they had four children. George served in the U.S. Marine Corps and guarded President Dwight D. Eisenhower at Camp David. He was also a pallbearer for Senator Joseph McCarthy. He was part of the USMC Drill team. George worked as a painter for Baltimore County Bureau of Utilities for 28 years. He retired young at the age of 54 and he and Nancy began a blissful retirement moving to Crestview, Florida from their home of 30 years in Phoenix, MD. After 7 years in Florida, they moved back to Parkville, MD, to be near their children and grandchildren. George was a good neighbor to all, a great friend, who loved woodworking, horse racing, golf, fishing, pitching horse shoes and going to Dover Casino.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his daughter, Terri McCardell and husband, Dave; son, George; daughter, Diana Via and husband, Joseph; and son, Keith Bosley and wife, Dawn; dear brother of Joan Marshall and William H. Bosley; George leaves a legacy of five grandchildren (Amber Bosley, Daniel Szumla, Stephanie Bosley, Lauren Chilcoat, and Keith (BJ) Bosley) as well as nine great grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Paul R. Bosley and Robert E. Bosley.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, 10 W. Padonia Road, Timonium. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 5, followed by interment at Poplar Grove United Methodist Church, 13600 Poplar Hill Road, Phoenix, MD.
