Gene was a wonderful person to know and work along side at BYC. He provided great knowledge as a member of the Holding Corp.  Patricia and I will miss his frienship very much.

Dear Thomie, Chip and family,

We are heart broken to hear of Gene's passing.   Gene will always be remembered fondly by the Toohey family.   

Gene was affectionately known as Gargmel to the Smurfs when we joined the Club in 1976. He will be missed.

Gene was a gentleman and fun to be with.   I always enjoyed his friendship and stories.   I know that all that knew him will miss him.  He was truly an asset to the members and officers of BYC.  May he rest in peace.

Special gratitude for facilitating Henry becoming an Honorary Member of the BYC. Continuing his membership at the club meant a great deal to Hank during his illness.  My thoughts and prayers are with  Gene’s family during this time. 

Always a gentleman.  Also kept BYC up to date, including the time he was seen jumping in dumpster to an overflowing situation. LOL.  My prayers to the family, we will miss him.  He was a part of the "D" Pier gang.  Love to all.

First met Gene a few years ago (1962) when he & I used to crew for BYC sailor Jack Moore on his Lightning "Footloose", where both Gene and I learned to sail. Gene was a fine man of principle , who will be fondly remembered by all of us in the boating community. He was a credit to the community, both in Baltimore County where he served with honor as a County Councilman, and also at BYC, where he served both the Club and the boating community well. 
We'll miss you, Gene. RIP.
