Dolores Rybak-Budzynski was born and raised in Baltimore City, MD (Patterson Park). She was the daughter of first-generation Polish Immigrants. Dolores had 1 older brother and 3 older sisters. She attended Seton High School and met the love of her life, Philip, at age 16 while boarding a trolley car on the way to school. Dolores and Phil were married at Holy Rosary Church and had a happy faith-filled marriage for 62 years. Early in their marriage, she gave birth to 3 daughters, and one Christmas Day Baby Boy. The family eventually relocated to Timonium, Maryland and became active members of St. Joseph’s parish for over 50 years.
Along with her husband, she provided for her four children a joyful childhood as well as the opportunity to graduate from college. Dolores was a devout Catholic, who had a true devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. She prayed the Rosary, and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy often, and regularly attended Mass at St. Joseph’s church. Dolores was also a Eucharistic minister.
Dolores had been active in several community endeavors such as the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, Pot Spring Elementary PTA, and a board member of the Coachford Community. Later in life, due to her devotion to Jesus and Mary, she found true friendship and love as a member of our Father’s Divine Work Ministry.
She had a passion and incredible talent for all things related to art and crafting, including sewing, painting, decorating, crocheting, building doll houses, genealogy, and gardening. She made the world more beautiful one flowerbed at a time. She loved to entertain, and hosted the most beautiful family gatherings, and specialized in engagement, bridal and baby showers. Dolores transformed her large, vaulted living room into a party space for celebrating. All the food was home-made, decorations crafted by hand, and flowers cut from the garden.
Dolores was a patient, loving, generous, and faithful woman, who devoted her life to caring for others. She loved spending time with her 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Dolores was affectionately known as Busha to her grandchildren (which translates to Grandmother in Polish). She never missed sending out Birthday, Anniversary and Christmas cards to her loved ones.
Dolores is preceded in death by her devoted late husband Philip Budzynski, after his passing in 2020. Loving daughter of late Joseph and Theresa Rybak; loved mother of Karen Queppet and her husband Bob, Donna Brumbaugh and her husband Brian, Brenda Budzynski, and Philip J. Budzynski and his wife Katey; dear sister of Walter Rybak and sister to late Celeste Bishop, Francis Fudge, and Florence McWilliams. Cherished grandmother to 8 grandchildren, Melanie Queppet, Mark Queppet, Tom Queppet, Jim Brumbaugh, John Queppet, Joey Queppet, Logan Budzynski and Michelle Brumbaugh and one great granddaughter Avila Queppet (who she adoringly called “Busha-Busha”).
At age 85, Dolores passed away suddenly and will be truly missed by all family and friends.
In lieu of flowers please consider sending Catholic Mass cards.
