Cynthia Evelyn Douglas Munro-Weiss passed away on October 6, 2023; loving wife of John C. Weiss, Jr. and the late Patrick D.M. Munro; devoted mother of Douglas Munro and his wife Cyd Lacanienta and also the late Alexander Munro; devoted stepmother of Fiona Reith and Neil Munro and his wife Catarina Santa-Clara; dear sister of the late Simon Hill, cherished grandmother of Patricia Munro and Matthew Munro; cherished step-grandmother of Mark Munro and Luke Munro.
According to her grandchildren, “Our Granny lived a more exciting life than anyone we’ll ever meet. She was one of the most intrepid women to grace this Earth. We were blessed to be able to call her our grandmother. She had almost 10 decades of adventuring under her belt. We can both only hope to live up to her someday — an arduous task, as she resided in countless countries and visited most of the continents (five of the seven). Born in London in 1927, Granny was the daughter of a British army officer and his glamorous Edinburgh wife. Many times she regaled us with memories of her childhood living in the pre-war British capital, and all her moves after that. She never ran out of stories from her past to tell us: a vast wealth of never-ending lore, keeping us on the edge of our seats and longing for more. We miss her already” — Tricia and Matt Munro, October 2023.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Mrs. Cynthia's life will held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at The Homestead at Springwell, 2209 W. Rogers Avenue, Town Hall Room, Second Floor, Baltimore, Maryland 21209 at 12 noon, reception immediately following.
