Charlie Edward Hagwood passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024. He was born in NC on November 30, 1928. He grew up in rural Franklinton, NC. He attended NC State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Civil Engineering Degree. He was loyal to NC State his entire life!! Charlie served in the Army during the Korean war. In 1952, Charlie met Faye and they married in October, 1953. He attended University of MD and earned his law degree, passing the bar exam on the first try!. Charlie and Faye lived in MD and raised two girls, Beth and Penny. Charlie loved the game of golf and played every weekend for most of his life…only stopping for Covid. He worked for Bethlehem Steel until retirement. Charlie then worked doing real estate appraising for another 10 years.
Charlie is survived by his daughters, Beth H. Bond and husband Thomas Bond, and Penny H. Grieci and husband Corrado Grieci. Grandchildren, Taylor Bond, Matthew Bond, Abigail Bond, Isabella Grieci, Nathaniel Grieci, Meredith Grieci, Elizabeth Grieci, and great grandchildren, Lillian Bond and Brenden Bond.
Charlie will be laid to rest at a small service on November 17th at 11am at the Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to NC State University in his name…give.ncsu.edu.
