Bruce was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to Gwendolyn and Olen Geer. He attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute for high school and later studied at Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland to obtain his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. Bruce obtained his Masters of Finance at Loyola University.
In November 1982, he married Courtney Draper. They raised two children in the suburbs of Richmond, Virginia. Bruce was happiest while on the water with family and friends, picking crabs at his family’s cabin on the Northern Neck of Virginia.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Courtney, his two children, Jordan and Nicholas, his two sisters, Gwendolyn Jane Geer and Amy Geer Stewart, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at 12:30pm at the Norrisville United Methodist Church, 2811 W. Church Lane, White Hall, MD 21161.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that folks donate in Bruce’s name to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Virginia chapter.
