Bill Barrett, Jr.

William M. “Bill” Barrett passed away on November 16, 2023. Bill spent most of his life working as a commercial Crabber (Waterman). He enjoyed the open waters of the Chesapeake Bay and looked forward to getting his boat in the water every spring. Due to his vast knowledge of the Maryland Blue Crab, Bill conducted surveys on the crab population for the State of Maryland.

After his retirement at the age of 80, Bill could be found watching Fox News, hanging out with his loyal Beagle Dillon, enjoying the birds nesting in his backyard, spending time with his four daughters, or getting caught up on the "current affairs" on Facebook.

Bill was the beloved husband of the late Mary Catherine Barrett for 56 yrs.; devoted father of Deborah Bond and her husband Timothy, Dawn Kist and her husband Gregory, Darbi Ciotta and her husband Christopher, Danielle Vain and her husband Jeffrey, and the late David Barrett; loving grandfather of Kayla Bangerd, Timothy Bond, Jr., Amanda Hockett, Sierra Dashner, Matthew Kist, Benjamin Kist and Madison Bond; great-grandfather of Callie Bangerd, Cayden Hockett, Peyton Bangerd, Avery Hockett, Theo Hockett, and Oliver Hockett; brother of Margaret “Peggy” Granger, and the late Betty Lou Klempke.

The family will receive friends at the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc., 10 West Padonia Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. Bill’s life will be celebrated at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 11am. Interment in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
