William (Bill) Phillips passed away peacefully on Monday, January 28th, at his home in Lake Oswego with his family by his side. Bill was born in Fremont, Nebraska, August 17, 1919. He married Ann Phillips June 9, 1945. Ann passed away with family by her side on April 20, 2012.
Bill was a Navy Pilot during World War II. He moved his family to Lake Oswego in June of 1967, where he and Ann raised their six children. He was involved with their extensive sporting activities, including a passion for golf. Bill is survived by four sons, two daughters and their spouses, Mike and Patti Phillips, Bill Phillips Jr., John and Jan Phillips, David and Kathy Phillips, Mary and John Lepschat and Julianne Phillips and partner Marc Gurvitz, as well as 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Bill’s commitment in life was his wife, children, the church, his community and his work. He was a success in all aspects. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Our Lady of the Lake School Building Fund.
