He was born in Oshkosh, Nebraska on January 19, 1939 to Donald and Virginia Smith. Richard had a career as a tool maker for Boeing for 20 years.
He was a member of Eagles FOE Puyallup, Aerie #2308 and had a passion for playing the guitar, writing songs, fishing, and county music.
He was survived by his brother, Stanley Smith, and his sister, Lola B. Wimsett.
A graveside service for Robert will be held on August 18, 2018, at 11:00am, at Valley View Memorial Park, 24235 Dayton Ave. Newberg, OR 97132.
