Mary Anne Herron, second of four children born to Dr. Ralph E. and Mary Mabel Herron joined her brother, Hugh, May 24, 1933. They were later joined by sisters Susan and Carol. Mary Anne spent her early years in Brownsville and Lebanon, Oregon.
She graduated from Lebanon Union High School June 1951. She graduated from the University of Oregon in 1955, and completed her medical technologist training in Portland, Oregon. She moved to San Francisco, California to work in a medical clinic. She soon started work at the University of California where she did medical research for some 19 years. She returned to Oregon and settled in Corvallis where she worked in the laboratory of Good Samaritan Hospital until her retirement in 1997.
Mary Anne enjoyed cross country skiing, white water river rafting and traveling. Most of all she enjoyed bicycling. She did cross country biking in Europe, following college graduation, Oregon, Canada, Washington, and Vermont.
Mary Anne is survived by her sister Carol Herron, sister-in-law Maxine Herron, nieces: Shelley Coleman (David), Christie Greiter (Dave Chambers), and Nephew: Michael Herron (Virginia), and numerous great and great grand nieces and nephews.
The family extends a special thank you to Estera and Ted Campan and their staff for the loving care they gave Mary Anne during the 7 years she lived in their foster home, Mary Anne died peacefully July 15th after an extended illness with Parkinson’s Disease. Her funeral mass will be noon, August 4th at Church of the Resurrection; 21600 SW Stafford Rd.; Tualatin, Oregon. Burial will follow at St Anthony cemetery in Tigard.
