She was born in Roseburg, Oregon on February 6th, 1940 to Morris and Jane Bowker.
Marjorie graduated from Roseburg High School in 1958, she was the class valedictorian. She also attended Oregon State for three years and was part of the Delta Gamma Sorority.
She was married to Gary Meeks on June 17th, 1960 in the Roseburg First Presbyterian Church.
Marjorie was extremely passionate about travel and took to a career in the travel business as an agent, assisting others in finding dream destinations and relaxing getaways. She was an active member in the travel agent organization National Association of Career Travel Agents.
She was also a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Cedar Hills Kiwanis – acting as president for both organizations for a short time.
Marjorie had several interests and passions in life, animals being an important one to her – especially her dogs. She loved to travel, taking river cruises with her husband and even a safari in Botswana – a trip she had won from a contest.
She is preceded in death by her Father Morris Bowker; Mother Jane Bowker; Brother David and daughter Melinda.
She is survived by her Husband Gary Meeks; Daughter Kristen Fisher (Tony); Son Timothy Meeks (Elizabeth). She is also survived by Grandsons Nick and Charlie as well as Granddaughters Cassie, Analesa, Emily and Amanda.
A memorial service was held at Calvin Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 17th.
