Lloyd grew up in Newport and graduated from Newport High School in 1970. He later graduated with a degree in Library Science from Portland Community College. Lloyd worked as a library technician for the Veteran's Administration, he genuinely enjoyed this job as it involved helping people which is what Lloyd was good at. After retiring in 2017, Lloyd continued helping friends and family, he was a helper at heart, everything he did on a daily basis revolved around helping others. He always put others before himself, and would be there for you if you needed support. Faith was important to Lloyd and he attended Holgate Baptist Church in Portland, along with other churches through-out his life.
On a beautiful day at the Victorian Belle in Portland, on June 13th 2015, Lloyd married his soulmate, Florence Snook. The two of them enjoyed life together, exploring and going on adventures.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Florence Cripe; his step-children, William, Stephanie and Elizabeth; his sisters Patricia Bear and Kathleen Cabanag, along with nieces and nephews.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his brothers Michael and James Cripe.
