Gladys Bassignan Russell was born in Oakland, California in 1917. She graduated from UC Berkeley with degrees in art and history, and began her 36-year high school teaching career. In 1943 she married Lloyd Russell and they had two sons. Gladys pursued her passion for art throughout her life. Her loving spirit enriched all of our lives. She is survived by sons, Russ and Gregg, daughter-in-laws, Elisabeth and Amber, Grandchildren, Shane, Desirae, Blake and Bradford, and her brother Ario. At her request a private family ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Providence Hospice Newberg Foundation in her name.
