Homeward Bound
When time is right for me to die and I've had my last breath,
I shouldn't then begin to fear what's known on earth as death.
A great excitement should be mine. I'm going on a trip.
No luggage will need packing; I won't take a bag or grip.
For finally I'll see outer space while close against my side,
An angel will transport me through the clouds in this great ride.
Far off I'll go from Satan's realm and onward to my home,
Where restfulness will find me and I'll never want to roam.
A gentle light will lead me to an emerald circled throne.
My Mother will be waiting and I'll never be alone.
The golden streets will beckon just beyond a bright array
Of lovely flowers growing wild in Heaven's endless day.
But most important I will meet the One Who thought up man,
Who with the Holy Spirit and with God made up this plan.
Between Them They created us in time which has no end,
with many timeless galaxies, where stars and moons all blend.
