Etta “Betty” Beatrice Hill was born to Victor and Rose Croxton on September 10, 1937. She was born in San Diego, California and moved frequently during her early life. In approximately 1946, she left with her family from San Francisco, California to a military compound on Guam. She loved her years on the island with her family. In 1950 her family left island life and relocated to the Los Altos hills in San Francisco, California.
Betty graduated high school and eventually followed her parents and younger siblings to the Medford, Oregon area. Betty was working at a bank when she was set up on a blind date with Robert Hill, who later became her husband and father to their children. They married in the First Methodist church in Medford, Oregon on July 13, 1958.
Betty was a homemaker and mother at heart. She organized many birthday parties for her children while finding time for her favorite pastime, Bunko! She continued her active life after the family relocated to Sandpoint, Idaho in 1968. This was to become her ‘forever’ home even though she did not know it.
While living in North Idaho, Betty raised a family, ran a business, fostered relationships and even worked at her brother-in-law's family bakery. She was multi-talented and loved researching spiritual/metaphysical topics and philosophizing with people about her thoughts and beliefs. She had a love of musicals, hearts, and rainbows. Her best colors were teal and blue but yellow was for the kitchen! She was a seamstress at heart and often said “I unwind with the bobbin”. She began sewing at a very young age and continued to use her passion for over 50 years of her life.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Hill on September 2, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ron on August 29, 2012.
