

Theresa Martinez, beloved sister, aunt and godmother, passed away peacefully after a long illness on November 21, 2022 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. She was born August 17, 1947 in Johnstown, Colorado to Faustino and Magdalena Martinez.
Theresa grew up in Denver, Colorado. She graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in 1965. After graduation, she worked for Mountain Bell, before starting a long career with the United States Post Office.
Family was very important to her and, though she didn't have children of her own, was involved in her nephews and nieces lives. She did an extensive genealogy search of the family, and after much searching , was able to locate her older brother, Vincelados grave at Riverside Cemetery. He died as an infant in 1930, and she promised her parents she would try to find him. She did and purchased a head stone for his final resting place. Theresa loved animals and was an avid coin collector. She loved the Denver Nuggets and the Air Force Falcons.
Theresa is survived by her sister, Lucy Summers (Harold, deceased) of Littleton, Colorado; her brothers, John (Dolores) Martinez of Buckeye, Arizona and Steve Martinez of Wheat Ridge, Colorado. She is also survived by many beloved nephews, nieces and friends.
In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her sisters, Madgalene (Sy) Sisneros, Jessie (Tony) Gomez, Martha (Miguel) Calderon, Angie (Jess) Marin, Dolores (Dennis) Robertson and brothers, Bill (Louise) Martinez, Louis (Virginia) Martinez and infant brother, Vincelados.
Visitation will take place at 9am, Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at St. Dominic Catholic Paris, 2905 Federal Blvd., Denver 80211. A Rosary will follow at 9:30am with a Funeral Mass at 10am. There will be a reception gathering in the Parish Hall at the conclusion of all services. Olinger Highland is taking care of cremation arrangements.
