Stan Flint, of Westminster, CO, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law and friend to all that knew and loved him. He was born on October 22, 1936 in Denver, CO to Harry and Maxine Flint.
Stan joined the Marine Corps in November of 1955 and was Honorably discharged in 1958. Shortly after, January 1960, he joined the Denver Police Department where he was mainly with Station 2 but also worked at Stapleton and helped open the police department at DIA when it officially opened. Stan was honored with the Unit Citation Award, Distinguished Service Cross, Live Saving Award, Safe Driving Award and Citizen Praise or Compliment Award, along with many letters for Outstanding Police Action/Unusual attention to Duty. He was active and served as President of the Policeman’s Union and was treasurer of the Denver Police Retirees Assoc. He retired from the Denver Police Department in July of 1995 after 35 years of distinguished service. He remained active in the police community and taught motorcycle safety to motorcycle policemen after retiring. Stan was an active and long time member of the Elks Lodge, the American Legion, the Eagles and the Denver Police Retirees Association.
He enjoyed motorcycle riding, golfing and traveling with his wife Sandy, especially in their motorhome.
Stan is survived by his wife, Sandra Flint of Westminster, CO; sister, Lynette (John) Wingate of Liberty, MO; brother, Burdette Hall of Arizona; son, Larry (Fran) Flint of New York; daughter, Pam Flint-Strom of Texas; daughter, Karen (Dean) Houser of New York; daughter, Katherine (Robert) Cleary of New York; daughter, Linda Haggerty of New York; several grandchildren; brother-in-law, Michael J. (Skeeter) Wilson of Thornton, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Standish Flint of Lafayette, CO; mother, Maxine Black of Nebraska; infant daughter, Laura L. Flint; infant granddaughter; and his son-in-laws, Paul Strom and Chris Haggerty.
The funeral services will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 1 pm. There will be a reception following at American Legion Post 11-11, 9954 Wadsworth, Westminster, CO.
