Shirley A Stanley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and auntie, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2024 in Thornton, Colorado. She was born on November 14, 1955 in Trinidad, Colorado to Eloy Jaramillo and Juanita (Jennie) Montoya.
Shirley grew up and attended school in the Trinidad area. She graduated from Trinidad High School in 1973. She moved several times in her younger years ending up in Northern Colorado. In Denver, she worked in banking as a teller, a branch manager, and retiring as a loan officer in 2002. Once retired, she loved being an active parent in her children’s lives and loved helping out with her grandkids. In her late years, she loved to watch movies or TV, play solitaire or bingo on her iPad, and make jewelry. Her perfect day would include walking her dog, Lily, visiting her momma, and being with her family for dinner.
Shirley is survived by a host of family that includes her devoted husband, Mark A Stanley; loving children, Daniel Maldonado of Denver, CO; Brandy (Chris) Harrison of Thornton, CO; Kristi (Tyler) Stanley-Lord of Northglenn, CO; precious grandchildren, Danielle, Sierra, Martin, Sienna, and Theo; mother, Jennie Montoya Herman of Pueblo, CO; siblings, Linda Cordesco and Celia (Mike) Rall both of Pueblo, CO, Prudence Medina of Trinidad, CO, Michelle and Daniel Jaramillo, both of Colorado Springs, CO, as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.Shirley was preceded in death by her biological father, Eloy Jaramillo; her dad, Richard Herman; and her brother, Samuel Borrego.
Visitation will take place Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 9:00am-10:00am and services from 10:00am-12:00pm at Olinger Highland Mortuary, 10201 Grant Street in Thornton, CO 80229.
