Born Shirley Jean Miller on June 25, 1953 in Edgewater, CO. Survived by husband Ronald, daughters Marie and Rhonda, sons Matthew and Nicholas, sisters Dolores and Barbara, brother Kenny, and grandchildren Max, Justice, Jayce, Roman, and Everette. Preceded in death by parents Dale and Lela, brothers Richard and Allen, and a son. She was a spiritual fighter, and after more than 6 years and 3 different battles with cancer, fell victim to the disease on January 31, 2020.
There were no strangers in the eyes of Shirley, as she welcomed everyone into her heart with open arms the moment they met. Known for her generosity and kindness, loved for her empathy and strength. The world has lost the gentlest and purest soul to have walked the earth. Love was her passion, and she was never in short supply. With a heart of gold, she was always available to lend an ear, share in an experience, and provide guidance.
Shirley retired from a long career at Lockheed Martin and moved from Colorado Springs to her dream home in Commerce City. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved when the house was bursting with their laughter. Shirley made sure to fill her last years with fond memories of her family and friends whom she loved so dearly. She will be deeply missed by all.
Memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday February 29, 2020 at 1:30pm at Olinger Highland Mortuary and Cemetery, 10201 North Grant Street Thornton, CO 80229.
