Sharon R. Schroeder, age 82, of Thornton, Colorado, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2024. Born on January 27, 1942, in Denver, Colorado, to John and Betty Murphy, Sharon led a life filled with love, creativity, and adventure.
She graduated from North High School and married Edward D. Schroeder, on January 7, 1966, in Denver. Sharon had a diverse career and retired as a Power Accountant from Tri-State G&T. A lifelong learner, she held a private pilot's license, having met Edward in flight school.
Sharon was an accomplished artist, dedicating her time to painting, drawing, cross-stitching, and needlepoint. She had a passion for crafts, collected dolls and Nightmare Before Christmas memorabilia, and was an avid movie buff, with Neil Diamond as her favorite musician. She enjoyed skeet shooting, sailing, camping, and reading. She loved movies. All genres. And she had a propensity for Horror.
A devoted animal lover, Sharon had a special place in her heart for dogs. Her wicked sense of humor and vibrant personality made her a friend to many; despite claiming to be shy, she easily connected with everyone she met.
Sharon was actively involved in her community throughout her life, having participated in Girl Scouts as a young girl and being a proud member of the Eastern Star and the Third Dockers.
She is survived by her beloved children: Lori Lynn Barker (Art), Sean Patrick Schroeder (Yvonne), and Matthew Jason Schroeder. She adored her grandchildren: Lindsay Large (Jesse), Kim Dewey (Brandon), Katrina Schroeder (Tyler), and Shane Schroeder (Khalya). She also cherished her great-grandchildren: Amelia Ruth, Aiden, and Shayla. Also survived by her beloved furkids Cleo and Clancy. She's survived by her brother, John H. Murphy (Mari) and numerous friends and expended family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward D. Schroeder; her brother, Charles M. Murphy; and her parents. Her furkids Chunker, Chelsea, Captain, Janie, and Corky.
