Sandra Marie Weinert "Sandi", age 70, of Thornton, Colorado passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at her home in Thornton, Colorado. Sandi was born on June 28, 1953 to her parents George and Kathleen Geldmeyer. She later married her beloved Husband Ken Weinert.
Sandi graduated High School in 1971. She pursued a career in the medical field, receiving her Licenced Practical Nursing (LPN) degree in 1973 at the Community College of Denver. Sandi will be remembered as a caregiver by all who knew her, she served many positions in the medical field and she eventually retired as a Quality Assurance Nurse in 2019.
Sandi was raised in Northglenn Colorado, In 1983 she moved to Higginsville, MO, She later returned to Northglenn in 1990 where she resided until 2016 when she sold her home and moved to Thornton, Colorado, where she remained until her time of passing.
Sandi possessed a keen eye for crafts; She made personalized cards for every occasion. She also enjoyed sewing, which allowed her to create beautiful baby blankets. She loved to share sewing and crafting with those who wanted to learn. She left this gift with each generation in her immediate and extended family.
She was loving, honest, genuinely caring. She put family and others before herself. She made sure that others have the things they need before herself. The caregiver in her was extended throughout her family and those she loved.
Sandi is survived by her beloved husband, Ken Weinert, Her Son: Jessie Mendenhall; Spouse: Jennifer. Daughter: Sabrina Taylor; Spouse: Rashad, Son: Kenneth L. Mendenhall; Spouse: JoAnna, Daughter: Jessica Hangsteler; Spouse Zack, Grandchildren: Izayah, Briauna, Dante, Gabriel, Angelo, Ayden, Tayler, Sam. She is also survived by her Siblings: Karen, Nancy, Diane, David of Colorado and of course, her pet: Lexi & multiple grandpuppies
She is predeceased by her parents George Geldmeyer (1984) & Kathleen Geldmeyer (2010), Spouse Kenneth E. Mendenhall (1992) and her Daughter Elizabeth Harper (2015).
Sandi lived a full life as a role model for so many, she was loving, kind and so very strong. She loved with her whole heart and will be missed greatly by her husband, children, grandchildren and so many more.
A private memorial service will take place for Sandi at Olinger Highland Mortuary - 10201 Grant St. Thornton, CO 80229 on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 10:00 am. Repast to celebrate the legacy Sandi left behind to follow at Broadlands Community Room.
