She was born 1921 in Pontiac, Michigan. Two days after she was born Ruth was adopted by Lincoln and Isabelle Moore, changing her life forever. Her birth parents already had nine children and simply could not afford a tenth. Ruth’s birth mother was working for the Moore family when Lincoln and Isabelle offered to adopt Ruth. The Moores were a loving Christian couple and were very active in First Baptist Church of Pontiac, Michigan. Ruth grew up attending the church and became a Christ follower at a young age.
Growing up, Ruth loved to travel with her parents to eastern Canada, eastern United States, and throughout the Smoky Mountains. Later in life she loved visiting her children in Toronto, Denver, and later, Vancouver, British Colombia.
Ruth met her husband George in the late 1930’s and married the only man she ever dated. They celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 1990 while living in Florida. George, the love of her life, passed away in February 2000.
Ruth worked in administrative roles for the railroad and at a local Junior High School in Plymouth, Michigan.
Ruth loved attending and supporting her local church through various ways. More than anything, she was a dedicated choir member in every church she attended. When Ruth moved to Colorado she became an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies.
She is survived by her children: Donald Wilson (Denver, Colorado); and Richard and Kimberley Wilson (Colorado Springs, Colorado). Ruth was also a loving grandmother to Courtney and Jon Bendickson (Wilson); and Brandon Wilson (both of Colorado Springs, Colorado); and was great-grandmother to Carter and Aidan Bendickson.
