I am Roger and Jean Owen's next door neighbor.  My family and I have been living next to them since 1995.  It has been such a pleasure to have wonderful neighbors and friends like Roger and Jean. Roger was always so kind and caring towards my family and I. We often had conversations, traded food, and watched over each other during these 27 years. Roger will be greatly missed as a neighbor, friend, and community member. 

I met Roger back around 2006/2007 when I became a Ham Radio/Amateur Radio operator.  He was a member of the Intermountain Repeater Group, Empire Radio Club, and Mile High Red Cross Emergency Communicators.  The first thing I noted about Roger was how kind and gentle he was.  He welcomed me to the radio clubs warmly and was always someone I looked forward to hearing on the radio.  At my first ham radio field day, Roger helped mentor or "elmer" as we call it, on the HF (high frequency) radio bands where I made my first HF contacts.  It is an experience I will always remember and treasure.  I also appreciated how we connected when it came to church.  We were able to discuss our religious differences and similarities in our various faiths, and I appreciated hearing about how involved he was in his faith and volunteer work.

I was in the praise band at WUMC with Roger for 5 years. He loved and lived to sing. He had a heart of gold, and will be missed
