Rich graduated from St. Mary’s HS in Colorado Springs in 1965, and shortly thereafter enlisted in the US Air Force. Afterwards, he began a career in Information Systems during the days of punch cards and room-sized IBM mainframes. Although Rich enjoyed his work, his true loves were his family, airplanes, and football. He became fascinated with airplanes in childhood. His family acted as caretakers for a small private airfield. The pilots would take Rich and his sister for rides in their Cessnas. He was eventually able to take flying lessons which fulfilled a lifelong dream.
Rich’s love for football ran deep. He would happily watch any game, but he bled orange and blue. He had season tickets for the Broncos for over 20 years, beginning in the South Stands of old Mile High.
He is survived by his wife Adell Gregg Little, his sons Scott (Leora) and Nathan (Ashley), his mother Betty Damron, and his sister Sandra Damron.
Services are on Friday, April 10th at 10 a.m. at Olinger Highland Mortuary.
Contributions may be sent to the Animal Health Innovation Fund at Colorado State University.
