Michael Robert Street, formerly from Colorado Springs, CO passed away on August 25 in Fort Collins, Colorado. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to all he met. Michael was born on June 17, 1947 in Colorado Springs to Robert and Freda Street.
Michael, graduated from Palmer High School in 1965. It was that summer when he met his wife, Marilyn Foster who had graduated from Wasson High School, Palmers H.S rival. Many stories came from their meeting, and it was fun when they would reminisce about those times in Colorado Springs. They married in 1967 at Highland Park Baptist Church, Michael looking handsome in his Air Force Blues and Marilyn with her beautiful red hair. That was just the beginning of a love has lasted 56 years. Michael spent his four Air Force years in Blytheville Arkansas, where they met so many close friends and had many great experiences. Both Dean and his sister Carrie were born while in Blytheville. In 1971, Michael and Marilyn moved back to their native Colorado Springs, where Michael went to work for the AMPEX Corporation, always telling the story of how AMPEX sold the VHS rights to Sony. During his time at AMPEX he would ride his pride AMERICAN FLYER bicycle to work during the summer. In 1991, he began his career with Colorado Springs School District 11, maintaining the schools that he had attended as well as schools where Marilyn his children and grandchildren attended. Michael had a passion for bicycles, woodworking with his father and the Cabin in Leadville. The true passion and love of his life was his wife, Marilyn.
