Martha (Sue) Bennett beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2023, while in Hospice care at Pathways in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was born on April 6, 1941, in Beaver Dam, Kentucky to the late Marjorie P. Krickovich.
Sue grew up and attended schools in Beaver Dam, Kentucky along with her brother Greg Burden. Here she met the love of her life, Richard Thomas Bennett. They were married on May 17, 1958. They traveled many places together, Florida, Texas, Alabama, and Hawaii. Later Richard and Sue retired in Colorado, after she had spent 20 years being a military wife.
Family and friends were extremely important in her life, and she knew how to make each of them feel incredibly special. Her favorite activity was shopping and decorating her home. Acquaintances used to tell her, her house looked like” better homes and garden.”
She is preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie P. Krickovich, stepfather, Maurice Burden and husband, Richard T. Bennett. She is survived by daughter, Tonga Stimpson (Doug), daughter, Susan Ross (TJ), grandchildren, Tabitha Smith-Johnston (Chet), Richard Morgan (Theresa), Timothy Ross Jr. (Aubrey), Taylor Norman (Drew) multiple great-grandchildren, and her brother Greg Burden (Pam).
A funeral service for Martha will be held Monday, January 8, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229.
Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave., Denver, CO 80236.
