Maria Ester Salas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, passed away March 24, 2023 at home in Denver, Colorado. She was born on January 21, 1929 in La Manga, New Mexico to the late Isidore and Caroline Arguello.
Maria went to school in La Manga and Sheridan, New Mexico. Her family moved to Colorado where she worked in the vegetable fields around the Denver area. Later, as a young woman, she worked at City Elite Laundromat until she met and married the love of her life, Benedicto Salas.
Maria is survived by her loving Children, Gloria (Lars) Salas, Margaret (Robert) Escamilla, Geraldine (Dr. Andy) Rodriguez, Annette (James) Martinez, Benjamin Salas and girlfriend Grace Esquibel; Grandchildren, Carlos, Juay (Travis) Josifek, Jolin Salas, Connie (Dennis) Armijo, Britanny (Jimmy) Seager, Royce Lopez, Rocky (Veronica) Rodriguez, Jimmy (Alexandra) Martinez, Josh (Terri) Martinez; Siblings, Manuel (May) Arguello, Eugene (Clara) Arguello, Gerald Arguello, Angie Gallegos,and numerous great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
In addition to her parents and husband, Benedicto, Maria is preceded in death by her twin sons, Ray & Roy Salas; son, Anthony Michael Salas and grandchildren, Joaquin Escamilla and Andy Rodriguez, Jr.,
A visitation will occur Monday, April 3, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Annunciation Catholic Church, 3601 Humboldt, Denver, CO 80205. A Rosary Service will follow at 10:30 AM with a Funeral Mass at 11am.
A graveside service will be held at 2pm, Monday, April 3, 2023 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80236.
