Maria Rosario Elizalde

On Saturday December 24, 2022, Maria Rosario Elizalde, mother, daughter and sister, passed away after a long 12-year bout with the Alzheimer’s Disease at the age of 84 years. She was born on January 6, 1938. She was an amazing homemaker and fierce dancer.

Maria is predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Guadalupe Elizalde (1931-2003), her daughter Rosario (1956-2014) and brother David (1955-1966). Maria will be eternally remembered by her children Santa, Guadalupe Jr., Thomas and Victor. She was the light of guidance for her siblings Thelma, Alma and Edward. As the daughter Guadalupe Rodriguez and Maria Pura Mendez she forged life of love in Texas, Chicago and Colorado. Maria will also be remembered by her foster children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, many friends and caregivers.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 29th from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary from 6:00 – 7:00 at Highland Mortuary in Thornton Colorado.

A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated in memory of Maria on Friday, December 30, at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church, in Thornton, Co., with Fr. Warli Castro presiding.

Memorial donations in memory of Maria may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation.
