Lois was born in Watford City, North Dakota to Earl and Mable Zingleman. Growing up in a small rural home with 11 siblings. She graduated from Watford City High School. She married Kenneth Whittaker on June 9th 1951 in Watford City, North Dakota.
As a new bride of a military husband they relocated to Camp Lejune California. During that time she was employed at Douglas Aircraft on the assembly line. Then transferred to North Carolina where Greg was born. After leaving the military they moved to Denver Colorado where they were blessed with twins Stan and Sheryl. They moved to Brighton Colorado where they developed a concrete company where Lois worked alongside Ken. She then went to work for Western Wardrobe where she became a manager until her retirement.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Whittaker, Great Grandson Weston Whittaker and Son-in-law Rex Wailes. She is survived by son , Greg Whittaker and wife Janice, Stan Whittaker and wife Deidra, and daughter Sheryl Wailes. Also survived by 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Lois's service will be on Thursday May 11th at 10am at Olinger Highland Mortuary 10201 Grant Street, Thornton CO. Graveside service to follow at 12 noon Elmwood Cemetery 14800 Brighton Road, Brighton, Colorado.
Pallbearers are Greg Whittaker. Jim Caulson, Michael Caulson, Scott Jensen, Brandon Whittaker, and Brent Whittaker.
