Kerry Jay Haptonstall, 56 of Westminster, Co unexpectedly passed October 18, 2022 at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Co. He was born May 17, 1966 in Colorado Springs, Co. The son of Donald Dee Haptonstall and MaryJo (Rigler) Maultsby.
Kerry married Jennifer Hardin on September 28, 1991. During their 31 years of marriage Kerry and Jennifer raised a beautiful family of 3 daughters.
Kerry was a proud Iron worker. The last years of his life he worked for RK Steel. He was very dedicated to his work and enjoyed showing off the places he built over the years.
Kerry loved to fish, ride his motorcycle and his dirt bike. He also loved putzing around his garage working on one project or another.
Kerry was an exceptional leader in both his personal and professional life. He helped mentor many iron workers during his career. He had a hard-core leadership style, that brought out the greatness in those iron workers who seized the opportunity to learn from his intense personality. Paradoxically, he was kind, considerate and generous in making sure everybody’s needs were met from shoveling snow for the neighbors, or just lending a hand to his friends, family and coworkers.
He is preceded in death by his father Donald Dee Haptonstall. Dee received a great birthday gift October 18th seeing Kerry and welcoming him home.
He is survived by his wife Jennifer Haptonstall, his daughters Danielle Smith, and her husband Antoine Smith, Jessica Haptonstall, and Toni Haptonstall and her partner Jorden Palmer, 6 grandchildren, Rymmedi, Trinity, Raelynn, Quintyn, Bridgette, and AJ. His mother, MaryJo Maultsby, brothers, Michael Haptonstall and his wife Diana, Donald Haptonstall and his wife Kelly, and Robert Haptonstall and his wife Miwa and an abundance of loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
