John Valoy Rodriguez passed away on Thursday March 30, 2023 preceded in death by his loving wife Dorothy and his three siblings, Matias, Steven and Carmen. He was born on February 26, 1947 to Jose and Clara Rodriguez. He is survived by 5 siblings and his four daughters Sheryl, Angela, Jaime and Deborah and their families.
John and Dorothy met as teenagers at A&W and were married on November 22, 1966 they were married for 54 years. They moved into their home in Northglenn in 1976, where they raised their four daughters. And were later blessed with eight grandchildren.
John loved the outdoors. He enjoyed to hunt, fish and camp. He spent many years with his buddies, nephews, sons in law and even his grandsons hunting every October. He also loved the Denver Broncos. He spent countless Sunday afternoons shouting at the TV.
John was also a very talented wood worker. If Dorothy could think of it, he could build it. He probably had the longest "honey do" list in history. And it still isn't finished!
John fought his battle with cancer for nearly five years. Despite spending much of that time in and out of the hospital, he never lost his sense of humor. Throughout his journey he cracked jokes with his family and made silly faces. He even gave the nurses a hard time now and then. He had a great ability to make people laugh and his sense of humor will be missed.
A memorial service for John will be held Friday, April 14, 2023 at 10:00am at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, located at 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229.
