Born 9/25/1923, in Hallock, Minnesota, to Mart & Hedvig Reddington. John was raised on a farm with his younger sister Eva in the northwest corner of the state. John was a WWII veteran and a graduate of St. Thomas University. He was a dual masters recipient, an educator and a lover of poetry & English literature. He enjoyed being a high school and college instructor and spent 25 years with the American Overseas Schools in Europe, as an Elementary School Principal, Middle School Principal, High School Principal and a respected teacher and teacher's union representative. He passed peacefully on 12/24/2017. John is survived by his soul mate and wife of over 46 years, Barbara. His sons: Denny Lobben, Martin Reddington, Michael Lobben and Tom Lobben; his daughter Shari Kissee (Jeff); granddaughters: Caitlyn Kissee, Charlotte Lobben, Kaley Sheridan and Regan Monahan; grandsons: Jake Lobben and Mace Lobben; great-grandson: Gunner Monahan.
Visitation, Friday, Jan 12, 2018 at Olinger Highland Mortuary, 10201 Grant Street Thornton, CO from 5-7 PM, Funeral Service on Saturday, Jan 13, 2018, at the same location at 1:00 PM Interment with military honors will immediately follow the Funeral at Broomfield Commons Cemetery, 12800 Sheridan Blvd for all who wish to attend. There will also be a Celebration of Life honoring John; guests who choose to attend the Celebration of Life directly from the Funeral will be greeted by a family representative, until the family arrives from the burial.
