Mr. Barkey was preceded in death by a son, Ralph F. Barkey, and his five sisters, Jeanne Berry, Doris “Penny” Maret, Marjorie Anderson, Roberta “Bobbie” Smith, and Patricia “Patsy” Hoffman. He is survived by his daughter Linda G. DeBruyn (Jerry) of Northglenn, CO, his sons Barrett R. Barkey (Gloria) of Strasburg, CO and Tracey J. Barkey of Commerce City, CO, his brother Ralph Barkey of Lincoln, CA, two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
John and his family lived in Sheridan until the family relocated to Commerce City, CO in 1957. A car and truck enthusiast, John earned his living as a truck driver for all of his adult life. He served in the Army 1945-1947.
There were no services. There was cremation with inurnment in Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo, WY.
