A wonderful mother and beloved wife left a void in the hearts of her family Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 10:45 PM. She departed at home with her husband Keith of more than 53 years and her daughter Diane at her side. She is now at peace and without any pain and suffering after years of fighting breast cancer. She was born in St. Paul in 1943 and moved shortly after to Yakima Washington where her father was working at the Hanford project. After the war her family moved back to Saint Paul and later to Phoenix.
She was a many faceted caring and loving person. In her younger days she would put a 45 pound pack on her back and walk into a wilderness area for a week at a time. Scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef and show her very feminine side at other times. She thoroughly enjoyed the opera, ballet, symphony, and the theater. She would spend hours in the basement darkroom printing a photograph that she had taken. She enjoyed the time with her daughter making beaded jewelry together.
She had a passion for sewing and created beautiful designs of everything she touched. She loved to create computerized designs and embroidery them. She used the designs for everything from clothes to quilts. She taught classes on how to use the software. It was her passion!
There will be a simple memorial service on June 18 at 1:00 PM located at Mount Lindo cemetery in Morrision Colorado. It will be a casual event for attire. This what she wanted, not to morn but to have a good time with family and friends.
Please no flowers, but give to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for her.
Arrangements under the direction of Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, Thornton, CO.
