Born on May 9, 1959, in Wichita, Kansas, Jim moved to Colorado as a young child, where he spent the majority of his life. In the 1980's, Jim proudly served his country as a Marine, embodying the values of honor courage, and commitment.
On January 1, 1993, Jim married the love of his life, Margaret L. Mangan. Together, they shared a beautiful journey filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Jim was a devoted father to his children, Jeremy, James, and Mikayla. Although Jeremy passed away prematurely, Jim and his family cherished every moment spent with him and held his memory close to their hearts. Jim is also preceded in death by his parents. He will be laid to rest surrounded by his son, his mother, and father.
Jim had a passion for the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. A skilled sharpshooter, he found solace and joy in nature. He also loved motorcycle rides. His love for the great outdoors was surpassed only by his love for his immediate family and his extended family.
Jim will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his loved ones, his bravery in service to his country, his zest for life, and his great storytelling. He was a skilled craftsman who took great pride in his work. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Jim's life will be held on Saturday, June 22nd, at 10 a.m. at Olinger HIghland Mortuary (10201 Grant Street in Thornton, CO). Burial will immediately follow at Olinger Evergreen Cemetery at Highway 7 and I-25. Refreshments will be provided at a gathering of friends and family at Famous Dave's BBQ Restaurant (16539 Washington St., Thornton ,CO). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of the giver's choice
Jim may have left this world, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace.
