Vev was born June 25, 1943 in Denver, Colorado. She attended Catholic school and met the love of her life Phil during her senior year at Annunciation High School. Phil and Vev married that summer and celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in July.
Vev was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and caretaker. Her family was her passion. She created a home filled with love. Outside the home she volunteered and supported her children as Den Mother, PTA President, Booster Club President and number one fan. Vev was an avid crafter, crocheting, knitting, doll making, quilting and sewing were her passions. Vev also provided daycare for her two youngest grandchildren, Megan and Mason. As her parents and in-laws aged, she became caretaker providing for them. She gave them the best life possible. God blessed Vev with a gift of love and compassion.
Vev’s other passion was her Denver Broncos. She attended every game for about 20 years. She attended rain, snow or shine until her health would not allow. Her Bronco room is filled with Bronco memorabilia she collected and gifts she received over the years. Her favorite Bronco was John Elway. She loved tailgating with whoever came to the games, her family, the Hastings Family, many friends and strangers and who parked nearby in the parking lot of Mile High Stadium.
Vev loved to travel and see new places. One of her favorite places to visit was Hawaii. She loved the warm weather, sunshine, sandy beaches, sea breezes, pineapples, and local food. She always loved to go to the hill and gambled with her Sisters. She also loved to go visit her relatives in New Mexico. She always included her kids who accompanied her on several of her trips. Family was always at the center of her life.
