Elva Josephine Glassmeyer, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024, in Westminster, Colorado. She was born on September 30, 1937, in Valentine, NE, to the late Almer and Viva (Rogers) Peterson.
Ellie was raised on a ranch, attended school and graduated high school in Kilgore, NE, in 1955. After graduation, she was a waitress in Valentine, NE, and then moved to Gordon, NE, where she started her career as a telephone operator. There she met her husband, Donald Glassmeyer. They were married March 8, 1959, in Rushville, NE. Ellie and Don lived in Gordon, the ranch and Scottsbluff, NE. Ellie and Don then ended up in Princeton, IL in 1965. She worked as a telephone operator for 20 years. Ellie and Don both retired in 1997. They moved to Denver, CO, in 1999 to be near their grandchildren.
Ellie is survived by her son, Jay (Christine) Glassmeyer; grandchildren, Tiffani Glassmeyer and Aaryn (Brandi) Glassmeyer of Denver, CO, and multiple nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Elva was preceded in death by her brothers, Les Grantham and JIm Peterson; husband, Donald Glassmeyer and daughter, Susen Glassmeyer.

Service will take place Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 2:00pm-3:00pm at Olinger Highland Mortuary. She will be buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery with her husband.
