Ellen Marie McCoy

Ellen Marie McCoy, 83, Granby, MO died Monday, February 28, 2011, at Freeman West Hospital, following a short illness. She was born April 4, 1927, in Rapid City, SD to Irving and Harriette (McKenzie) Gifford. Mrs. McCoy was a professional waitress, and moved to Granby in 1991 from Denver, CO. She was a member of the Granby First Baptist Church and Englewood Seniors Bowling League. Ellen and Frank E. McCoy were married June 20, 1959 in Raton, NM and shared 52 years of marriage. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Dan and Annita Brockway, Bella Vista, AK, Craig “Mac” and Janelle McCoy, Olathe, KS and Judy Bernal and husband Len Kaiser, Thornton, CO, Daneen Brockway, Denver, CO, Larry Boyer, San Antonio, TX, and Marcia Chance, Branson, MO; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Betty Workman, Neosho, Rozena and Carl Barton, Denver, CO, Sharon Longman and husband Gene Duke, Joplin, MO, Eugene and Lois Gifford, Siloam Springs, AK, and Nancy Gifford, Denver, CO. Visitation is Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from 3PM to 8PM at Olinger Highland Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 10AM at Olinger Highland Mortuary, Thornton, CO with Reverend Billy Hamm officiating. Interment will follow service at Olinger Highland Cemetery.
