Dennis L. Norton, of Brighton, passed away July 2nd at Platte Valley Medical Center surrounded by his family and friends. He was born July 13th, 1953 in Commerce City, Colorado to Kenneth and Bernice Norton. He grew up and attended school in and around the Commerce City area. He married Minnie Schenfeld / Pollard on November 3rd, 1972 in Brighton, Colorado.
Dennis worked many years primarily for various oil companies in Northern Colorado as well as a mechanic for Longmont Ford. Dennis was a loving husband, and stepfather as well as a kind and generous neighbor and friend to many. Never one to sit around, Dennis was continually working on his own house, his yard, his vehicles and if not any of those he was helping a neighbor, family member or friend with a project. He was a gentle and kind-hearted man always willing to lend a hand or bit of advice on how to fix or repair something. Dennis will always be remembered for his generosity to help others and love of family. He truly was one of a kind and will be missed greatly.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 44 years Minnie Norton, five stepchildren: Art Pollard of Commerce City, Bill Pollard of Dacono, Larry (Angela) Pollard of Brighton, Stephanie Pollard of Brighton, Donnie Pollard of Brighton, sister Nancy (Jimmy) Smith of Commerce City, and seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Lynnette, Kaylen, Luke, Grant, Abby and Seth, as well as numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother Bernice and father Kenneth.
Memorial service will be held at the Abundant Life Center Church in Brighton, CO on July 9th at 11:00 am.
In honor of Dennis and his generosity and willingness to help others, the family requests that you assist someone in need with the same compassion that Dennis would have.
