Deloris Ann Crosswright was born on November 14, 1937 and left this world to be with the Lord at the age of 84 on December 10, 2021. She became a widow after her beloved husband, Alfred, passed away in July of 2000.
Deloris was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. A beautiful person inside and out, Deloris was Miss Ohio runner-up in the late 1950’s. She ran a successful day care center for several years before attending Cuyahoga Community College and continuing on to Central State University located in Wilberforce, Ohio where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work.
Deloris accepted Christ as her personal savior at the tender age of five and has since loved God with all of her heart, soul, and spirit. She was a true woman of God who embodied the attributes of the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31. She was clothed in strength and dignity, she captured the people that she interacted with as she spoke with wisdom, providing faithful instruction. She diligently watched over the affairs of her household. Her children arose and called her blessed. She was a woman who feared the Lord and was highly favored and praised. She often quoted her favorite chapter of the bible, Psalm 91, and trusted each and every word.
Deloris loved her family deeply. She had unconditional love for her sons and all who loved them. She was a friend, mentor, adviser, and counselor to many. She studied God’s word and encouraged anyone she encountered to do the same. She implored people to pray, asking God for a clean heart and a right spirit. She walked the talk; praying for a long list of people daily and closing out each and every day by praying with her sister, Patsy.
She is survived by her two sons, Kevin and Kaleva, and their wives, Mary and Lisa, and her two sisters, Betty and Patsy. Deloris is also survived by her grandchildren, Dalila, Kyle, Leilani, Moriah, and Taylor and her great-grandchild, Aiyana, all of whom she loved dearly and referred to as “her babies”. She also leaves behind a host of friends, as well as nieces and nephews. To all who loved her, Deloris was known as “Big Mama”, “Dee”, “Mom”, “Auntie ‘Loris”, “Sis”.
