David Lee Long ended his 47-year journey on earth Friday, March 26, 2021, and has entered into heaven to be with his Lord and Savior forever. David was born August 28, 1973 in Winfield, Illinois. He passed away at home from liver failure.
He is survived by his wife Janette Long of Westminster, CO., three children, Adam Long (Trevecca University, Nashville), Andrew Long (Baylor University, Waco, Texas.) and Rachel Long (Olivet Nazarene University, Bourbonnais, Illinois).
He was the son of Leland and Mary Long and brother of Ian (Erin) Long of Peoria, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roscoe & Elberta Long and James and Thelma Simpson.
He was much-loved by his Aunts & Uncles: Judy (Les) Peters, James (Sherry) Simpson, Kay (Ken) Lehmann, Cody (Ginger) Long and his cousins. He was also loved by the many teens he worked with.
David graduated from Northglenn High School and immediately signed up for the Marine Corp. He attended basic training in San Diego, CA and was trained in explosive ordinance disposal. He was a veteran that served in Somalia, Africa for the Desert Storm/Operation Restore Hope mission.
David & Janette were married on September 16, 1995, in Westminster, Colorado. They were married for 25 years.
After leaving the service, he and Janette returned to Westminster, Colorado where they raised their three children. David was very proud of his children and felt that nothing was more important than his family.
David received a degree from Westwood College in Computer Technology. Upon graduating, he taught there and later at Community Christian Academy. Following this, he excelled at his sales engineering job at Gogo Business Aviation.
David was well loved by the church and teen group at Crossing Church of the Nazarene in Westminster, Colorado. He taught the teens for many years and accompanied them on multiple district events. He was a Global Youth Delegate for a conference in the Philippines.
He participated in numerous youth mission trips including Jamaica, Louisiana, Memphis, Salt Lake City and a House build in Mexico with his brother and dad.
David was outgoing and made friends with everyone he met. He will be missed by the many people he touched in his short time here on earth.

David, a combat veteran who earned his education after his service, was a huge supporter and advocate for his three kids' education. He was very proud that each of them is actively pursuing degrees in their fields of interest.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 10:30 am at
Crossing Of Nazarene 3501 W. 104th ave, Westminster, Colorado.
A reception will follow Monday, April 5, 2021 at Crossing Of Nazarene at 11:30am.
Inurnment will occur Monday, April 5, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Olinger Highland Cemetery, Cremation Garden
