Darlene past away of respiratory failure 01/14/13. She was born 04/23/32 at her Aunt Vi’s home in South St. Paul, Minnesota. She grew up in Duluth, MN. This is where she met and married Norman L. Garlow. At the time she was running her own dance studio and took a job as a candy girl at the same movie theatre where Norm was an usher. Here she met some of her lifelong friends. Norm and Darlene were married 09/08/51 in Mason City, IA. They settled back in South St. Paul where they lived for 60 years and raised their children. Norman preceded her in death just a year ago. Darlene is survived by: sister- Billie Jo Nelson of Prescott, AZ and family; In-Laws- Richard and Patricia Garlow and family; Children- Norma L. Krech (Gary) of Brighton, Colorado; Terrence E. Garlow of St. Paul, Minnesota and Karla K. & Debra L. Garlow in Johnstown, Colorado; Grandchildren- Paul Koshenina (Sandy) of Inver Grove Heights, MN; Jeffery T. Krech (Bethany) of Thornton, CO; Christina M. Garlow of Loveland, CO; Joshua D. Johnson of Rosemont, MN and Brandon M. Garlow of Minneapolis, MN. Surviving great-grandchildren are Scott E. Edmond of Loveland, CO, Evan Johnson of Rosemont, MN and Grace A. Krech of Thornton, CO. and various Aunts, Uncle and Cousins. Darlene held several jobs throughout her life. She worked at First Nation Bank, State of MN DOT, Stanley Product Sales assorted filler jobs and retired from St. Paul Companies Insurance. Her interests included dance, arts and sewing which she was so good at she also made side money to help the family. In later life she enjoyed travel and spending 20 years wintering in Arizona. She also discovered casino trips. Travel was the ultimate passion and she would have love a career as a travel agent. She will be greatly missed by all.
