Dale Hopson was born in Denver, Colorado to Silas & Alice Hopson. He was raised in Denver, graduating from East High School. Prior to serving in the Marines, he met and married Bonnie Williams. When he returned from his service, he studied to become an architect. He designed many different buildings in the area, including the 16th Street/Market Street Station, the Broadway Station, the Supermax Prison in Florence and the Veteran’s Memorial in Civic Center Park.
His great bass voice and love for singing led to him serving as the choir director for Galilee Baptist Church for many years.
In addition to his love for singing, he loved to camp and fish.
Most importantly, Dale loved his family.
He is survived by his son, Evan T. Hopson; daughter, Leslie D. (Brian) Wehlage; grandchildren, Sheri Blanton, Silas Hopson, Lawrence Wehlage and Linzhi Wehlage; great-grandchildren, James Blanton, Ryan Blanton, Ciddalee Blanton; and brother, Jerry Hopson.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Silas W. and A. Alice Hopson; and his wife, Bonnie W. Hopson.
